Kudos! MEA's NFPA 70E Training
Judi,
I wanted to let you know that Paul did an excellent job training our employees on NFPA 70E.
Safety Training is a subject that can often come off as preachy or unrealistic when it is presented, but I thought Paul did a great job conveying to our employees that this isn't something that you "should do" it is something that you "should want to do."
Paul used good examples to show how long it takes to make up for expensive fines and how that might make it hard for employers to employ people who don't follow OSHA rules. More importantly I felt he did a good job of explaining "WHY" people should want to know how and when to use the proper equipment, he explained how life goes on for the OSHA inspector and employer, but often times does NOT go on for people involved in an Arc Flash when they are not wearing the proper PPE. I thought the videos, charts and data that he used were very impactful and easy to understand.
I was impressed that during our afternoon break my employees were asking me about how much equipment we would have and how we were going to make sure we had it, rather than having a glazed over look and talking about what they were doing this weekend (and that was a Friday afternoon).
I would like to thank Paul and MEA for helping increase the safety of our employees and for helping us to be OSHA compliant.
Thank You,
Jason Seanger, Melrose Electric
