Dear Chamber members,

Today, Governor Walz signed an executive order for all Minnesotans to “stay at home” for two weeks, starting this Friday. We want to make sure that you have what you need to understand, comply and navigate your business through this crisis.

First, if you are a private-sector employer that can continue business operations remotely, you can keep your business open.

If you are wondering about the definition of “essential” and “nonessential” operations, you can find details or see the Executive Order language linked from our COVID-19 Business Toolkit.

Thank you to the more than 300 businesses who sent us their feedback and considerations for this order in advance. We shared a summary with Governor Walz’s office earlier this week.

We want to help you understand what this order means for your business. The Chamber will record a webinar with Commissioner Steve Grove of the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) tomorrow, Thursday, March 26. Please submit your questions here or at the link below, and watch your inboxes for the recorded webinar tomorrow.

We will continue to ask questions and advocate for you throughout this dynamic situation. Please reach out to Chamber staff with questions or business needs.
