Congratulations

Congratulations...Congratulations to 28-year MEA member Bowman Electric of Albert Lea for celebrating its 30th Year in Business!!!!

Congratulations...Bill Daly, Federated Insurance, is excited to take over the Association Account Executive position previously held by Bob Anderson effective January 1, 2009. Bill is originally from Eden Prairie. He is in his 28th year with Federated starting as a Marketing Representative in the Twin Cities and serving as Vice President and Director of Home Office Property & Casualty Marketing before accepting this new position serving associations. Bill and his wife, Ann, live in Owatonna and have two college-age children, Joe and Kelsey, who attend St. John's University & St. Benedicts College.

Bob Anderson has accepted a position with Federated in Boston. While we will miss Bob, we wish him and his family the best of success.

Moves and New Locations

Long-time MEA member Buschena Electric of Fulda has decided to close its doors. Buschena Electric has been a member of MEA since 1936. We wish Art and his wife, Mary, the best.

Education & Meetings

The Construction Codes and Licensing Division... has set its 2009 NEC Spring Seminar Series. The classes will offer 8 hours of approved continuing education at various locations throughout Minnesota.
This year's seminar series is titled "The History and Mystery of Grounding." The cost of the seminar is $50 per person. Seminars are scheduled from April 6 to May 22. Register early - seats are limited.

The Construction Codes and Licensing Division is also offering seminars on "Minnesota's New Commercial Energy Code" (MN Rule Chapter 1323). The cost of this seminar is $50 per person. Seminars are scheduled from April 7 to May 27, 2009.

Need-to-know information for your company...Minnesota Small Business Development Centers offer informational classes and seminars throughout the state for small-business owners. Most classes are free of charge. Topics range from marketing in a tough economy to doing business with the Corps of Engineers.
