The world is run by those who show up
Written by Judi Rubin
MEA is led by the members who show up. This association is fortunate to have such a strong core of members who give their time to lead this organization. Thank you to those who serve as officers, board, chairs, committee members, and to those who attend meetings and classes. Those many members of MEA who continue to pay dues also deserve our thanks. The contractors, distributors, manufacturer's reps, manufacturers, cooperatives, utilities, and other stakeholders who belong to MEA and make many important contributions deserve our appreciation.
These leaders give freely of their time and money to help the staff, elected officials, regulators, and various stakeholders understand the needs of electrical contractors. Their investment makes the industry better for all.
The many stakeholders who give strong support to providing quality education for the industry include the following:
- Werner Electric's Tim Geise, Deb Ricci, Randy Moberg, Dean Dobitz, Chuck Boley and the rest of their staff.
- EESCO United Electric's Rob Olson, Doug Hall and their staff.
- Dakota Supply Group's Gregg Miller, Arne Breikjern, Clair Zirnhelt and their staff.
- Echo Electric Supply's Joe Yeske and their staff.
- Arrow Electric Supply's Brian Saunders and their staff.
- Tri County Co-op's Brian Krambeer, Kaye Bernard and their staff.
- MEA's amazing team of trainers (led by our lead trainer, Joe Gatewood) who work hard to make every Code class the best include Dean Hunter, Scott Nutting, Jim Schoon, Chad Kurdi, Jeff Keljik. Martin Stuart worked hard to make the Exam Prep class as effective as possible. The Apprentice trainers of Chad Kurdi, Scott Wessel, Jim Schoon, and Jeff Keljik led the industry with their online training.
- The related associations and organizations (who usually agree more than they disagree) of NCEL, NECA, AGC, ABC, IBEW, CLA, CARSA, MNESTA, MNLA, DOLI, the utilities, cooperatives, and more. Xcel's innovative experiment making Boulder, Colorado, the first "Smart Grid City" in the world is only one example of their leadership.
Thanks to these people for showing up.
