From the President: MEA's Online Code Training for Unlicensed Electricians--
Awarded 2 hours CE credit by the Board of Electricity
Written by Judi Rubin, President
MEA worked closely with John Schultz and Sam Sampson to meet their high standards for granting continuing education credits for online classes on the National Electric Code. Their requirements meant that Paul Krmpotich had to customize course materials, Amy Dvorak and Sam Drong had to customize reporting and delivery software, and Rebecca O'Brien had to refine our accounting systems. MEA's Officers and Board gave full support and encouragement for this work. We want to thank all of them for their interest and their time.
Thanks to Werner Electric Supply for offering to promote this training to their customers and to provide them with the same discount MEA members receive. Their aggressive commitment to service is appreciated as are the other distributors who are interested in making this available to their customers.
The MEA instructors providing this training have three years of experience or more in providing training online. They are also experienced code instructors. You can be assured that you will receive the best in:
- Live, real-time NEC code training delivered by excellent instructors
- Interaction between trainers and participants by voice, video, and chat
- One-on-one attention --better than in a classroom
- Relief from the expense and fatigue of traveling to classes
- Access to quality training no matter where you live
Avoid the rush!
Renewal for many unlicensed electricians is due by the end of the year, but it is smart to complete and submit it...
- BEFORE the busiest time of the construction season hits. Make sure your unlicensed electricians get this training when it will give you and them the greatest benefit.
- BEFORE hunting season starts. Scheduling in the late summer and fall is tough with work deadlines, school starts, and hunting season fighting for your employee's time.
- BEFORE the rush. A hard working, understaffed Construction Codes & Licensing Divisionn (CCLD) will get hit with thousands of completions! Will your unlicensed people be able to be on the job site if they do not have their card on their renewal date?
Remember—MEA was one of the first to bring code classes to your community. Why? The time and travel were expensive, few classes were available in greater Minnesota, and because you asked for them. MEA worked hard to bring you these online code classes for the same reasons.
