Q: What do I get when I take a Classroom NEC Code Class?
A: Meals and refreshments (i.e. morning coffee and rolls, noon lunch each day, and afternoon soft drinks and cookies), up to 16 code credits for your license renewal (8 hours per day), and a certificate of completion.
Q: What is NEC Code Training?
A:The various sections of the code book are interpreted in detail by MEA's expert instructors who have an in-depth understanding of the NEC. Each chapter or article contains overhead transparencies, video clips, class participation, and a question & answer period following each chapter.
Q: What is required for ONLINE NEC Code Training?
A: A computer with high speed Internet access, a working microphone and speakers. Check the MEA website for other technical requirements. A current NEC code book is highly recommended
Q: When and where can I take the class?
A:Classes are held throughout Minnesota on Friday and Saturday. Class time for both days is usually 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m unless indicated differently on your class confirmation. Check MEA's website for dates and times for ONLINE Training.
Q: Do I need anything else for this class?
A: The current NEC code book is strongly recommended for class. Order online or call MEA at (612) 827-6117 or (800) 829-6117 to order.
Q: Do I need to send anything to MN DLI to verify that I have completed my continuing education?
A:MEA will send all necessary paperwork to MN DLI to verify your attendance at class. You are responsible for signing each roster at class. No signature = no credit (no exceptions). Also, you will need to complete and mail your license renewal paperwork with any renewal fees that are required.
