Online Unlicensed Worker Code Training
Minnesota Electrical Association Online NEC Code Training classes have been approved by the Minnesota Board of Electricity and open to all unlicensed and registered electricians.
In Minnesota, an individual is “Prohibited from performing electrical work without first becoming registered as an unlicensed individual.” The individual is also required to have 2 hours of approved CE on electrical code each year to maintain and renew their registration. The training must be completed during the year following the first yearly registration filing and for each year thereafter.
The following penalties are on the individual:
- Credit will not be given for work-related hours required for licensing exam credit if not registered
- Fee is doubled after grace period of 30 days has expired
- Violators are subject to disciplinary action ranging from reprimands to license revocation
