Emergency COVID Funding Bill

We passed an emergency funding bill unanimously at about 2:30am this morning (3/17/2020). Key highlights include:

1. $50 million in a contingency account for the commissioner to use immediately.

2. $150 million for the Minnesota Department of Health to create a grant program for health care facilities to seek funding. All unused funds are returned to the general fund if not used by February 1, 2021.

3. Requires health insurance coverage of tele-medicine (this includes mental health services.) This is vital to let people get the care they need without exposing themselves to the virus. This is effective until February 1, 2021.

There is still more in the works to be considered to help small businesses, employees, and those hit hardest. We'll continue to provide updates as things progress.
