A Message on Daunte Wright
The Governor and First Lady are praying for Daunte Wright’s family and loved ones as Minnesota mourns another life of a Black man taken by law enforcement. The death of Daunte Wright is a tragedy. He was a young man, a father, a friend, and a son. We must take meaningful action to fight systemic injustice, pursue bold police accountability reforms, and make lasting change.
In these challenging times, the Governor’s duty is to preserve the First Amendment right of peaceful protests while protecting public safety. We must ensure communities have the space they deserve to grieve and call for change.
As we support peaceful protest, we must also recognize the painful reality that there are bad actors who wish to exploit the movement. If anyone tries to use this tragedy to harm our communities, we have a robust public safety response and they will be arrested.

Governor Walz’s ‘Roll Up Your Sleeves, MN’ Vaccine Outreach Campaign Focuses on Manufacturing Workers
Today, as a part of the broader statewide ‘Roll Up Your Sleeves, MN’ campaign, Governor Walz highlighted the state’s outreach efforts focused on connecting manufacturing workers with the resources they need to get vaccinated. In the coming weeks, workers in other priority frontline sectors will be vaccinated at community vaccination sites.
“Our strong-spirited manufacturing workers are the backbone of our economy and food supply,” said Governor Walz. “They have worked so hard during this unprecedented crisis to keep everything from food on our tables to PPE on our shelves, and now we’re going to make sure each and every one of them gets easy and convenient access to vaccines. Getting this critical workforce vaccinated will help us end this pandemic and get back to business as usual.”

 On Tuesday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan joined Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Commissioner Jan Malcolm to highlight Minnesota’s COVID-19 vaccine progress at the federally-supported FEMA vaccination site at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.During the eight-week period, this site will result in over 100,000 total people being vaccinated. Minnesotans living in the zip codes near the Fairgrounds with the highest scores on theCDC’s Social Vulnerability Indexare eligible for appointments at this site.

Governor Walz Highlights Efforts to Increase Access to COVID-19 Vaccine for All Minnesotans

 On Thursday, Governor Walztoured a pop-up vaccine clinic at WorkAbilities, a nonprofit organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities. WorkAbilities is partnering with the state to vaccinate members of the disability community and their families.
"All Minnesotans should have access to the vaccine somewhere that’s accessible and comfortable for them," said Governor Walz. "Thank you thank you to partners like WorkAbilities that are holding pop-up clinics to help make sure we don’t leave anyone behind."

The Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector is a tool that helps Minnesotans find out when, where, and how to get a COVID-19 vaccine. After you fill out a simple form, the Vaccine Connector will connect you to resources to schedule a vaccine appointment and notify you if there are vaccine opportunities in your area.
