Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Release Revised Budget to Move Minnesota Forward



Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan released their revised supplemental budget on Thursday. The revised Walz-Flanagan Budget to Move Minnesota Forward accounts for the recent economic forecast released last month by Minnesota Management and Budget, while continuing to make investments to expand economic opportunity, protect Minnesotans’ health and safety, and support children and families. The revised series of supplemental budget proposals includes delivering up to $1,000 in direct payments to Minnesota families through Walz Checks.


Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Highlights Proposed Investment in Affordable Housing



On Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan visited Huntington Place in Brooklyn Park to highlight what a $100 million investment in safe and affordable housing would mean for Minnesotans. Under the Walz-Flanagan Budget to Move Minnesota Forward, a $100 million investment in Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing would preserve and improve nearly 3,000 homes for Minnesotans across the state.

"Everyone deserves a safe home at a price they can afford," said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. "Our budget would make a first ever investment in naturally occurring affordable housing, like at Huntington Place, to ensure communities are safe, stable, and affordable for years to come."



Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Meet With Small Business Owners, Organizations, Community Members Engaged in Lake Street Redevelopment Efforts



On Friday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan stopped at Mercado Central Market and Midtown Exchange to meet with small business owners, organizations, and community members engaged in redevelopment efforts for Lake Street. They discussed the proposed $20 million investment into the Main Street Economic Revitalization program included in the Walz-Flanagan Budget to Move Minnesota Forward.


Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Hears From Frontline Workers About Need for $1,500 Frontline Worker Bonus Checks


Lieutenant Governor Flanagan joined Representative Cedrick Frazier and Senator Erin Murphy at St. Mary's Church in Worthington on Sunday to hear from frontline workers and discuss the need for $1,500 frontline worker bonus checks. The Walz-Flanagan Budget to Move Minnesota Forward recommends $1 billion to provide payments to frontline workers who have sacrificed during the pandemic to keep Minnesotans safe, healthy, fed, and cared for. 

Governor Walz Stops By Boys State Hockey Class 2A Championship



Governor Walz stopped by the Minnesota Boys State Hockey Class 2A Championship game on Sunday. During the game, Governor Walz met with Lou Nanne, a former NHL player who played hockey at the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota North Stars.
