GUV light treatment is a supplemental measure that tackles surface disinfection quickly and effectively.

The GLR Germicidal UV Louvered Recessed series combines a louvered fixture’s aesthetics with the disinfecting power of Germicidal UV technology. Fixtures are available in both 2’ x 2’ and 2’ x 4’ models and are ideal for use in low and medium height grid ceilings. They can also be used in drywall ceilings using optional accessory mounting kits. The louvers deliver a quiet ceiling and enhanced optical control during the disinfection cycle. The GLR Series is ideal for use in hospitality, office, and school settings and is estimated to disinfect (COVID-19) in 25 minutes.

Cooper Lighting Solutions also offers a GSL Germicidal UV Striplight Series, a narrow strip family using the latest in germicidal UV technology. Fixtures are available in 4’ lengths with one or two GUV sources. These are ideal for surface mounted applications but can also be suspended. They also offer an optional wireguard to protect the fixture from damage and reflectors for symmetric and asymmetric control. The GSL Series is suited for retail, schools, and distribution centers and can disinfect (COVID-19) in a little as five minutes (estimated).

GUV’s disinfecting power can inactivate viruses and eliminate bacteria, mold, and fungi, but it can be harmful to humans if exposed for too long. Cooper Lighting Solutions offers several controls to ensure a space is vacant whenever the system runs, minimizing exposure risks.
