AFC Cable Systems® Announces New MC Cables
AFC Cable Systems, a leading manufacturer of armored cables has announced the release of two new Types of MC cable for the electrical construction industry.
AFC's new MC-QuikTM and MC-StatTM cables are the next generation of Type MC cable featuring a "wrap-free" conductor assembly (patent pending) under an interlocking metal armor. The one-step removal of insulation and protective covering eliminates the need to unwind and dispose of an overall assembly tape or paper wrap. The new Type MC cables from AFC employs an oversized aluminum bonding/grounding conductor in conjunction with the outer metal armor as the equipment grounding means.
MC-Stat cables are used in health care settings within areas of patient care where dual path grounding requirements are essential. MC-Stat features the armor/bonding/grounding system like MC-Quik, plus an insulated green copper grounding conductor for the second path to ground.
The ColorSpec ID SystemTM introduced by AFC Cable Systems, Inc. several years ago, provides the user with instant identification of cable type, conductor count and system voltage. MC-Quik and MC-Stat cables employ the ColorSpec ID System. MC-Quik cables feature a purple base color. MC-Stat TMcables feature a distinctive green base color. Both cables will also display corresponding phase/circuit colors for system voltage identification.
Inventories of both products are currently being put in place with an anticipated rollout date of mid-August.
