Continuing Education Committee

  • Plans training for electrical contractors, masters, journeyworkers, estimators, foremen, and managers

Executive Committee

  • Consists of the elected officers of the association (Chairman of the Board, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary), past president, two members at large, and the president of MEA
  • Implements the strategic plan
  • Acts on behalf of the MEA Board of Directors between Board meetings and present decisions to the board to ratify at the next meeting
  • Reviews, refines, and approves plan and budgets
  • Analyzes recommendations and presents these to the Board as deemed necessary
  • Annually reviews the performance of the Executive Director
  • Monitors the progress of the programs and policies of MEA to assure results are being achieved

Finance Committee

  • Reviews, refines, and approves the annual plan and budget
  • Sets the policies of investment and the use of funds of the corporation
  • Keeps abreast of MEA finances and financial position and meets with accountant as appropriate
  • Sees that accurate records are kept of all money and property received, owned, and dispersed by the corporation
  • Conducts monthly review of the financial reports of the corporation and keeps the Board informed as required
Government / Legislative Action Committee

  • Evaluates survey results and feedback to determine the legislative and regulatory goals for each year
  • Recommends MEA’s positions on proposed legislation and regulations to the Board
  • Communicates as needed with the MEA staff
Insurance Committee

Strategic Planning Committee

  • Develops a three- to five-year strategic plan for the Association based on the needs of its members and presents it to the members and Board for approval
  • Uses the results of surveys, focus groups and input from industry experts to determine the effects of the economy, new developments in technology and demographics on the industry
  • Determines the staff, volunteer, and financial resources needed to achieve the goals contained in the plan
