MEA Scholarship Information

Currently the Minnesota Electrical Association is accepting applications for the James T. Seanger Scholarship.

James T Seanger Memorial Scholarship Criteria

Applicant must be a dependent child of an active dues paying member of MEA or be sponsored by an active dues paying member of MEA
Applicant must be enrolled in the Construction Electricity program at an accredited school.
The scholarship must be used at any accredited Construction Electricity course in Minnesota .
Applicant must include a copy of their most recent transcript of grades and a letter of acceptance to an accredited school.
The scholarship will be in the form of a grant being payable to the school.
Scholarships will be available for Fall Semester 2008 and must commence within one year of date of award.
Applications are due June 2, 2008.
Applicants may apply for future scholarships as long as they meet all requirements.

Minnesota Electrical Association/Minnesota Electric Supply, a Division of Border States Scholarship Program Criteria

Six $500 scholarships will be awarded.
Applicant must be a dependent child of an active, dues paying member of the MEA (not a product service provider).
Applicant needs to be either a senior in high school or already enrolled in a tech school or accredited college in an undergraduate program.
The scholarship may be used at any two-year or four-year accredited college or university, including technical institutes.
Applicant needs to have a 3.0 GPA (high school seniors) or 2.5 GPA (tech school or college).
Applicant needs to carry the minimum course load required to be considered a full time student by their school.
Applicant must attach a copy of a transcript of their grades.
Applicant must supply the above documentation attached to a completed application form.
The scholarship fund will be in the form of a grant program with the funds being paid to the college, university, or technical school.
Scholarships will be available for Fall Semester 2008.
Scholarship use must commence within one year of date of award.
Applications are due May 30, 2008, and scholarships will be awarded June 12, 2008.
Applicants (winning and non-winning) may reapply for future scholarships as long as the applicant meets all requirements.
All completed applications meeting the above requirements will be entered into a random drawing by the MEA and Minnesota Electric Supply Co.
