MEA Scholarship Information
Currently the Minnesota Electrical Association is accepting applications for the James T. Seanger Scholarship.
James T Seanger Memorial Scholarship Criteria
- Applicant must be a dependent child of an active dues paying member of MEA or be sponsored by an active dues paying member of MEA
- Applicant must be enrolled in the Construction Electricity program at an accredited school.
- The scholarship must be used at any accredited Construction Electricity course in Minnesota .
- Applicant must include a copy of their most recent transcript of grades and a letter of acceptance to an accredited school.
- The scholarship will be in the form of a grant being payable to the school.
- Scholarships will be available for Fall Semester 2008 and must commence within one year of date of award.
- Applications are due June 2, 2008.
- Applicants may apply for future scholarships as long as they meet all requirements.

Minnesota Electrical Association/Minnesota Electric Supply, a Division of Border States Scholarship Program Criteria
- Six $500 scholarships will be awarded.
- Applicant must be a dependent child of an active, dues paying member of the MEA (not a product service provider).
- Applicant needs to be either a senior in high school or already enrolled in a tech school or accredited college in an undergraduate program.
- The scholarship may be used at any two-year or four-year accredited college or university, including technical institutes.
- Applicant needs to have a 3.0 GPA (high school seniors) or 2.5 GPA (tech school or college).
- Applicant needs to carry the minimum course load required to be considered a full time student by their school.
- Applicant must attach a copy of a transcript of their grades.
- Applicant must supply the above documentation attached to a completed application form.
- The scholarship fund will be in the form of a grant program with the funds being paid to the college, university, or technical school.
- Scholarships will be available for Fall Semester 2008.
- Scholarship use must commence within one year of date of award.
- Applications are due May 30, 2008, and scholarships will be awarded June 12, 2008.
- Applicants (winning and non-winning) may reapply for future scholarships as long as the applicant meets all requirements.
- All completed applications meeting the above requirements will be entered into a random drawing by the MEA and Minnesota Electric Supply Co.
