Enrolling into the Apprentice Classes
Q. Do I need to pay for all 4 years of the program at once?
A. No, you will just pay for one year at a time per apprentice.
Q. Can I set up a payment plan for the tuition of the course?
A. No, we do not allow payment plans – you must pay for the entire year in full prior to us enrolling the apprentice.
Q. What if I need to cancel out of the classes?

Q. Do I need my own study guide for the classes or can I share with my coworker?
A. You need your own study guide for the course. You will be using this
every week during class, making notes, highlighting items, etc.
Q. Do I need to be at my own computer when I watch the webinar or can I watch with my coworker?
A. You will need your own computer/laptop to watch the sessions. You
will also need to log in to each class yourself, even if you are
watching in groups. Everyone must log in to a different computer for
each lesson as themselves. Our software tracks how much time you are
paying attention to the lessons and logged in for.
Q. How do I know if my computer is compatible with the online courses?

Q. Why do I need to sign a waiver?
A. In order for usto share your grades with your employer, we need
your consent to do so. By signing a waiver, this will give your
employer access to your records in our learning management system along
with a report on a monthly basis with your grades included.
Q. Do I need to pay the registered apprentice/3rd party verification fee?
A. If you are in a registered program with the Department of Labor,
yes. If you are not in a registered program with the Department of
Labor, no.
Q. How do I know if I am in a registered program with the Department of Labor?

unclear, please call the Electrical Association (612) 827-6117 and ask for someone who can help
you with questions on registered apprenticeship programs.
Q. I am not in a registered apprentice program with the Department of Labor, can I join ETN of MN?
A. Only the Electrical Association members will be accepted as new companies into ETN of MN. Application and board approval are required. Please call the Electrical Association (612) 827-6117 if you have any further questions about
ETN of MN and application requirements.
Q. Does the training count towards continuing education hours?
A. No. You will still need to take course towards your continuing education credits.
Q. If I take all 4 years of the the Electrical Association Apprentice Classes, will
this go towards my on the job hours that I can use to sit for the MN
journeyworker exam?
A. No, you will still need to obtain 8,000 on the job training hours to qualify to sit for your MN journeyworker exam.

Q. How do I log into my account to watch webinars and take quizzes?
A. www.electricalassociation.org – your username and password will be
the same each year that you are in the program. If you are new to these
classes, your login information will be sent to you prior to the
beginning of class. If you need your login information, call the Electrical Association (612)
827-6117 and ask for someone to reset your password for the apprentice
classes.
Q. Do I have to attend the live session in order to receive credit?
A. No. We encourage and prefer you attend the live session, however we
understand that work and prior commitments can get in the way. You are
allowed to watch the recording of that session for credit.
Q. I watched the recording and it is not showing up in my record?
A. This is updated once a week manually at the the Electrical Association office. Check back
in a few days to see if your grade shows up, if it is still not accurate
– contact the Electrical Association (612) 827-6117 and ask for someone who can help you with
questions on your grades for the apprenticeship course.
Q. Can I re-take my Exams?
A. Block Exams can be re-taken or re-opened per the request of your
administrator. Once they call or email us the request we can re-open
your Block Exam.
Q. Do I need to complete everything in order to pass?
A. Yes. Every lesson must be watched, whether that be watched live, or
you watch the recording. You must complete all homework, quizzes and
exams with a score of 70 percent or higher.
Q. Can having other windows up during class affect my grades?
A. Yes. Per state law you must have an attention to attendance ratio of
at least 80%. If other windows such as Email, Facebook, Etc. are open
during class, your percentage will lower. If your percentage of
attention is below 80% you will not receive credit for class and you
will have to re watch the class recording.
Q. How long do I have after the final class to complete everything for completion?
A. You will have 2 weeks after the final lesson to complete any make up
work and to take the final exam. All course materials will be
unavailable after June 1st, if you have not completed all items by then,
you will need to retake that year in the program if you would like to
advance.
Q. Can I begin the apprentice program late; can I make up classes that I’ve missed?
A. Yes. You can begin the apprentice program after it has begun but you
will need to make up any missed work by watching lesson recordings and
completing the homework, quizzes and exams
