Safety AWAIR Program

Thank you for your membership with the Electrical Association and for taking these steps to promote and enforce an AWAIR Safety Program for your company and your employees!

Below you will find files for nine sections required in an AWAIR Program plus a tenth section filled with safety training topics and forms you will find useful.

Each section was created in a Microsoft Word file that you can easily edit and save to suit your company’s needs. Each file contains a brief description of WHY you need the section in your AWAIR program followed by a checklist for HOW to complete the section.

  1. Download each section to your computer.
  2. Modify any text in the samples, but specifically you must modify any text printed in RED. This is where you are prompted to insert your company’s name or the name of your safety coordinator.
  3. Print the documents, and place them in a binder.
  4. Place a copy of the AWAIR manual at every project site. Service companies should carry a copy in each truck. Your employees are required to understand the requirements in your AWAIR program and where they can find a copy of it at each job site.

Print the following sections to complete your manual:
Section 0: Introduction
Section 1: Company Commitment to the AWAIR Program
Section 2: Goals and Objectives
Section 3: Roles and Responsibilities
Section 4: Hazard Identification, Analysis and Control
Section 5: Safety Communication and Training
Section 6: Accident Investigation
Section 7: Enforcement
