Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs)
Submitted by Clean Energy Resource Teams

The Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs), written into Minnesota state statute, is a non-partisan partnership working with communities across Minnesota to identify and implement energy efficiency, beneficial electrification, and renewable energy projects.
We don't do policy or advocacy work; we focus on getting community-led energy projects done. We catalyze projects through stories and decision tools, educational forums, programming cohorts, one-on-one assistance, and seed grants.
Our two most popular resources are the Minnesota Clean Energy Job Board (
on.mncerts.org/jobs) and the Inflation Reduction Act: What You Need To Know (
on.mncerts.org/IRA).
Some examples of CERTs work include:
•
electric vehicles (EVs) in city and tribal nation fleets
•
publicly-available EV charging infrastructure
•
solar for schools technical assistance
•
consumer education on air source heat pumps
•
guidance on funding like IRA, Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), and other programs
•
direct energy efficiency work with underserved communities like manufactured home parks and food shelves.
We take a targeted approach to ensure that CERTs’ programming meets the different needs and interests of Minnesota’s varied communities. We tell the stories of these projects so that others can learn from and be inspired by them.
