The work done by association committees and the board is crucial to the organization’s success. With a combination of the industry ideas/expertise and hard-working dedicated staff to execute, the offerings and benefits for electrical contractors provided by the Electrical Association are more robust and relevant to your business needs than any other organization.

Apply for a Board or Committee Position

You are passionate about the Electrical Industry and so are we. Let’s help each other succeed. Our Committee and Board input is how we add and tweak programs and services that you need to be successful in business. Do you want a seat at the table?

Membership Committee
1. Help build new programs and member benefits that you are interested in taking advantage of.
2. Be the first to know about new offerings
3. Real time knowledge about the workforce development programs that you can hire from.

Education Committee
1. Ensure the type of training that you need is being developed and available.
2. Keep the Association at the top of education providers.
3. Have an opportunity to learn from peers about new code, regulations and safety requirements on a regular basis.

Government Action Committee
1. Have a direct role in coming up with the legislative direction for the association.
2. Learn about new rules and laws that could affect your business before they get passed.

Board of Directors
1. Provide strategic direction for the industry.
2. Converse with the top industry leaders about business issues around the state.
3. Grow your industry community.

Qualifications and Expectations

Qualifications
1. Must be a member of the Electrical Association (electrical contractor, employee of an electrical contractor, associate member, retired member, affiliate, corporate or product service member
2. Must be familiar with or willing to educate yourself about the Electrical Association offerings and benefits.

Expectations
1. 3-5 online zoom meetings per year (1 hour each) for committees; Board meetings may be in person, chair’s choice.
2. Email communications in-between meetings as needed. This can vary depending on projects. Willing to participate and provide guidance on the questions and projects from staff in between meetings.
3. 2-year commitment with two opportunities to renew your committee status.
