Empower Your Career With the 2024-2025 Apprentice Training Course


The 2024-2025 electrical apprentice training course will equip you with the technical skills you need to advance in your career as an electrician. From theory and technical to code, calculations, and more, you’ll learn everything you need to excel in your work.

Created and updated by electrical contractors who understand what an electrician needs to know on the job site, our curriculum qualifies for 144 hours of RTI per year. Our friendly, knowledgeable trainers are Electrical Association certified, and the Education Department is certified through IACET.

We know life can be busy. That’s why we strive to make it as easy as possible for you to succeed:

  • Classes take place on Tuesday evenings - you won't have to miss work to attend.
  • Classes are all online, so you can take them anywhere.
  • Missed classes are easy to make up
  • Our program is now completely mobile! You can access weekly lessons through Moodle and all live or recorded sessions through WebEx Meetings.

 Frequently Asked Questions

*8000 hours of on the job training will need to be completed prior to sitting for the Minnesota Journeyman Exam.  There is an exception to this rule in Minnesota for 2 year approved trade school graduates who need 6000 hours after graduation.  The Electrical Association's (EA) apprenticeship classes do not qualify as trade school credit and do not reduce the 8000 hour requirement. 

*If you are taking the apprentice course to meet requirements in additional states – please verify that this program meets their specific requirements 


Registered Apprenticeship

The Electrical Association partners with the Electrical Training Network (ETN) to provide a registered apprenticeship program to our members. 
 ETN of MN has a set of standards that have been approved by the Minnesota Department of Labor that all companies accepted into the program must follow.
